On 15 October, the old round pound coin will cease to be legal tender in the UK. It will be replaced by the 12-sided, bi-metallic pound coin which has been in circulation since March.

So what will you be doing with all those old pound coins hidden down the back of the sofa, or forgotten in coat pockets?

We think this is a great opportunity to help support our cancer prevention research – all you need to do is collect your old pounds and then donate them to us using our secure online form.

Every one of your old pound coins counts – collecting just 20 of them will fund an hour of vital research, helping us to learn more about cancer and how we can prevent it.

Fill your box with old pound coins, pay them in at your local bank before 15 October and then donate the money online.
