So I have a sweet tooth. Chocolate is my main demon. I was practically weaned on Cadbury's and going a day without some sort of sugary fix doesn't usually occur to me. It's a habitual and ritual part of my life. Yet I know it's affecting my health and potentially storing up health problems for me later in life. At the same time, members of my family and those of my friends have been touched by cancer in recent years. It is through research into forms of cancer detection and treatment that I'm lucky enough to have most of those people still in my life. It is through taking more responsibility for my own health and further research that I hope myself and my loved ones can live with and survive cancer if becomes our turn to face it. So in June the chocolate goes. In fact I'm extending that to all sweet treats. So out with the ice cream (my next weak spot), biscuits, sweets and cake (fall back options). I'll be replacing those things with healthier snacks - particularly those low in sugar content.

I'd love to have your support with this task. I know people take on bigger more dramatic challenges of stamina and strength. But it's all relative. This is my Mount Everest, my marathon, my tough mudder!

Anything you can pledge to support my success will help benefit future generations of cancer sufferers, while giving me extra motivation to nail this and be a role model to my kids.

PS, my 6 year old daughter Ellis is signing up for this too!
