Kate Allen

Dr Kate Allen, Executive Director, Science and Public Affairs

Kate is responsible for the science and policy programmes at World Cancer Research Fund International. Kate has a PhD in neuroscience and can comment on our scientific research and policy work.

 

Gerard CousinsGerard Cousins, Director of Fundraising

Gerard oversees our fundraising department. This includes events, community, legacy, and trusts and foundations fundraising, as well as corporate partnerships and supporter services. He’s available to provide comment on all aspects of our fundraising activity.

 

Dr Anna Diaz FontDr Anna Diaz Font, Head of Research Funding

Anna obtained a PhD in medical genetics from the University of Barcelona and previously worked at the Wellcome Trust and Prostate Cancer UK. Her expertise covers a wide range of fields from genetics to cell biology and molecular biology.

At WCRF she leads the team responsible for our grant programme, which allows us to fund cancer prevention and survival research all over the world. She can comment on our grant funded research.

 

Matt LambertMatthew Lambert, Health Information and Promotion Manager and Team Coordinator

Matt translates our scientific research into tangible and practical health information for the public. As a qualified and experienced nutritionist and fitness expert, Matt can comment on the link between diet, physical activity and cancer.

 

Dr Giota MitrouDr Giota Mitrou, Director of Research and Innovation

Giota has a PhD in genetic epidemiology from the University of Cambridge and has written several papers in the area of diet and cancer. She previously held research positions at the National Cancer Institute in the US and at the University of Cambridge. She has worked at WCRF for ten years in various senior positions within the science department.

Her main responsibilities include oversight of the research grant programme, our convening and capacity building activities and partnerships at national and international level. In her current role she works closely with the Policy and Public Affairs team to ensure there is coherence between our science and policy activities.
